Guest Speaker Poster | Anna Vernon

For this project, I really set out to try my hand at illustrating one the the guest speaker's this time. Here's my process from beginning to finish.
I made two models of Anna (one with a white-based shirt, one with a black-based shirt).
Then I concentrated on the background and what it would consist of, which ended up being (you guessed it) triangles.
I added Anna in the background, her title, and the logo. Then I asked my fellow peers what their opinions were of it. I took some of their suggestions and tweak the poster some more.
Traded out the white-based shirt for the black, made the illustration smaller, filled in some triangles and realigned them more evenily, deleted some of the test, and lightened her face a bit for better differentiation between neck and face.
Although I really liked my illustrations, I thought I should try to make a poster without her on there.
The concept of this poster was more along the lines of what I wanted to reach design-wise.
Even though I liked the second version best, I thought I'd still show the second to last concept finalized. Without further aideu, the finalé:
